'you don't ask the writer. You ask the reader."

My 2012 New Year's Eve Wrap-Up!

2012 was an amazing year for me in blogging and books :)

I set up my blog and posted an intro on December 27, 2011 thinking that I will share whatever books I read and keep a log of them and my library for myself.
I never expected to have SO much fun with it!
And most of all, I never expected it to flourish and grow the way that it has! I've met so many people, both online and in person, and am so very happy that I didn't let my fears or shyness get in the way to venture into this wonderful side of books!

There were a lot of wonderful book moments for me!
These were all such surprises because I never thought I would ever do any of these things...
and I have to thank everyone for their help and guidance!
Without my fellow book-bloggers and booktubers, I would have never known about any of these things and would have missed out on so much!

* * *

This year, I went to 3 book signings!

Jess Rothenberg's release/book signing for

Merrick Library book signing -
Keep Holding On by Susane Colasanti, Belles by Jen Calonita and
Take a Bow by Elizabeth Eulberg

* * *

 AND, I NEVER thought I would get to go to BEA!!!
Yes, I only went in for an afternoon, but still, it was the bestest book moment all year!

* * *

And in April, I starting vlogging on YouTube for the sole purpose of sharing my updates and hauls... I never expected to find so many awesome BOOKTUBERS on there!!!
My world of books just kept on growing and growing :)

* * *

I tried to participate in a few book challenges this year too!
Unfortunately, I was too caught up in reading in general to remember most of my challenges, lol!
Most of the time, I forgot to link up my progress, oh well...

Here is a look at what I managed to accomplish:

And lastly, but certainly not least!!!...
I met my 2012 Goodreads Reading Challenge Goal of 120 books!!!
My original goal, back in January, was to read 50 books, lol! I remember bumping it up to 60, than 75 in April... than to 100 and then lastly, to 120 in July. I almost didn't make it, I had two books left just a few days ago! But I picked some winners that got me through to the end ;)

I hope you had a wonderful 2012 too!!!

I am really looking forward to all the amazing things to come in 2013!!!
Here's to another amazing year in books :)

Happy New Year!!!

  1. Wow, it looks like you had a FABULOUS year! I love going to book signings, and it definitely seems like you went to 3 really great ones. And BEA!! I totally want to go to that sometime in the future. 300 posts is super impressive for just a year of blogging, and as is over 14,000 Tweets! You really talked it up. ;) I also forgot to link up to most of my challenges, something which I'm hoping to fix in 2013.

    Fantastic post Margie! Here's to another fabulous year of blogging. <3

  2. Holy successful year, Batman! Congrats on an amazing year, Margie! I'm so proud of you, my friend, and I wish you an equally successful and even happier 2013. Love 'ya!

  3. This was your first official year blogging? That's wild. It feels in someways like you've been around for like ever. :)

    Happy New Year!
    And anniversary!

  4. What an awesome year you've had:) And you did great with my challenge...you accomplished 2nd level by hitting at least 6 books!
