In My Mailbox #10

"In My Mailbox" is a weekly meme created by

The idea is to post whatever 'books' you may have received from the week (before), whether you purchased them, gifted to you, borrowed, traded, etc.

I wasn't planning on buying any books this week, none at all, lol!
but I saw this one on sale at our local discount book store and have seen good reviews for it! So of course I just had to get it!

Someone Else's Life by Katie Dale

My kiddo's school had another book fair this week -
at the bottom of this post you can see their haul from the book fair (they've been upset with me for not sharing their awesome finds too, lol!) and from the discount book store too... anyways, I treated myself to these 2 books from their school book fair! Gotta support, right :)

Radiance and Shimmer from the Riley Bloom Series
by Alyson Noel

And, Ivy from Ivy reads shared these ARCs with me,
thank you so very much, Ivy :)

Partials by Dan Wells (I. Cannot. Wait. To. Read. This!)
Amplified by Tara Kelly
Across the Universe by Beth Revis (Another must read now!!!)
Pink Smog: Becoming Weetzie Bat by Francesca Lia Block

Quick Question!!!
Has anyone read the Weetzie Bat series???
Do you suggest that I read the first book or two of the series before I read this???
There are such mix reviews about it, I have never heard about the series until now and it sounds like a good one, but I want to do it right - where should I start, please ;)

Thank you SO very much for stopping by and checking out my haul this week!

Please leave your links with your comments too!
I looove seeing what everyone new reads are :)

PS, don't forget - you can enter my giveaway HERE for your chance to win a hardback copy of Bewitching by Alex Flinn from The Book Depository!

PSS, here's what my boys got this week!
I'm really excited to start the Stink Series by Megan McDonald, more known for her Judy Moody books;  and all of these Weird School Daze books (by Dan Gutman) with my 8yo!
My little guy is 5, he loooves dogs! and I was really really really surprise when he picked up a Splat the Cat book, lol!

Lots of fun here :)

  1. Ahh, I'm so jealous that you have Pink Smog- Francesca Lia Block is my favorite and this is one of the few books of hers I don't have yet!

I've heard that you don't have to have any prior knowledge of Weetzie's life in order to read this book, which is good, but I do recommend the rest of the series. Francesca's writing is brilliant!

  2. Ooooooooo Partials. I'm envious. Enjoy :)

  3. I'd really like to read Partials, and I also got Across the Universe from the library this week. Great haul and I hope you enjoy your books!

  9. Please excuse this, but SPLAT THE CAT!!!! Love, love those books. I'm a nanny, and the two kids I watch have almost all of them. The younger one, who is 2, pulls them out CONSTANTLY to read. His favorite is the Easter Bunny one, sort of a lift-the-flap book. When I read it to him, I lift each flap and say "is he here?.....Nope!!" Until we "find" the bunny. Well now when he takes it off the shelf to "read" to himself, he lifts each flap and says (in his barely-forming-sentences-English) "here?...NOPE!" So stinkin' cute.

Alright, sorry about the tangent, hahah. Great haul this week!

  10. You got an awesome stash this week! I keep hearing awesome things about Partials- I can't wait to read it for myself!

    Have a great week!

  16. Ahhh!!! So jealous of your Partials. I was never able to get my hands on an arc. Look forward to your review. ANd You'll have to let me know how Radiance and Shimmer are. I won the latest book in the series but haven't read the others so I've put it off. haha But they are short reads so I may have to give them a try soon. You had an awesome week in books! :)
