by Marissa Meyer

SUMMARY

Secret identities. Extraordinary powers.
She wants vengeance.
He wants justice.

The Renegades are a syndicate of prodigies - humans with extraordinary abilities - who emerged from the ruins of a crumbled society and established peace and order where chaos reigned. As champions of justice, they remain a symbol of hope and courage to everyone...
except for the villains they once overthrew.

Nova has a reason to hate the Renegades, and she is on a mission for vengeance. As she gets closer to her target, she meets Adrian, a Renegade boy who believes in justice - and in Nova. But Nova's allegiances is to a villain who has the power to end them both.

MY TOP TEN FAVORITE SUPERHEROES

1. WONDER WOMAN - “Please take my hand. I give it to you as a gesture of friendship and love, and of faith freely given. I give you my hand and welcome you into my dream.”

2. HULK - "Hulk, SMASH!"

3. SPIDER-MAN - "Whatever life holds for me, I will never forget these words: With great power comes great responsibility. This is my gift. This is my curse. Who am I? I'm Spider-Man."

4. SUPERMAN - "You're much stronger than you think you are. Trust me."

5. HARLEY QUINN - "I've made so many mistakes there's no one left who believes in me."

6. MS. MARVEL - "Good is not a thing you are, it's a thing you do."

7. BLACK WIDOW - "I do not belong. I am exceptional. I am the exception."

I was trying to keep my list fun and light-hearted, but...

8. MY MOM - Because she is the most loving, strongest and stubborn woman I know <3

9. ACTIVE MILITARY, VETERANS, AND THEIR FAMILIES - I have a strong respect for these people who have sacrificed so much and more to protect us and stand up for what they believe in. A job that I can never endure.

10. FIRST RESPONDERS - I have a HUGE admiration for all of those that sacrifice their lives on a daily basis! The fire and police departments, all in the emergency response teams, doctors and nurses, etc. It takes a very strong person to witness and do what they have done, and continue to do on a daily basis. Something that I don't think I could ever have the courage, nor stomach, to do. I am so grateful for those who can!

September 2017 Book Haul, Wrap-Up and October TBR

Hi there! I hope you are all doing well...
in light of all the bad things that have been happening in the world, I am trying really hard to keep things in perspective and appreciate everything that I have. Being a mom to all young boys and having family in Puerto Rico has really taken a toll on me and my family. It's been difficult trying to help my boys understand everything that has happened, and also, trying to keep a positive mind while waiting to hear directly from our family members (we have received calls second-handedly letting us know that they are alive and as well as can be in their circumstances, but not from them directly yet)... in the meantime, I have been told that trying to do what makes us happy is a good way to stay calm, patient and find peace. So here I am, sharing my belated book haul, wrap-up, and TBR :)

Many hugs to you all!!!

...

Here are all the books I've read and accumulated throughout September :)
