Waiting On Wednesday #110: VANISHING GIRLS by Lauren Oliver (YA)

"Waiting On Wednesday" is a weekly meme hosted by  Breaking the Spine.

This is where we get to 'spotlight' books that we are anxiously waiting to be released! The ones that we are dying to get our hands on and read into the wee hours of the night and, quite possibly, to make our shelves look all pretty too :)

What I'm waiting for...

by Lauren Oliver
Expected release date: March 10th, 2015
Published by: HarperCollins
Genre: YA Contemporary
Format: Hardcover, eBook

SUMMARY

New York Times bestselling author Lauren Oliver delivers a gripping story about two sisters inexorably altered by a terrible accident.

Dara and Nick used to be inseparable, but that was before the accident that left Dara's beautiful face scarred and the two sisters totally estranged. When Dara vanishes on her birthday, Nick thinks Dara is just playing around. But another girl, nine-year-old Madeline Snow, has vanished, too, and Nick becomes increasingly convinced that the two disappearances are linked. Now Nick has to find her sister, before it's too late.

In this edgy and compelling novel, Lauren Oliver creates a world of intrigue, loss, and suspicion as two sisters search to find themselves, and each other.

Why I'm waiting on VANISHING GIRLS...

I only have one sibling, a sister. So stories about sisters always peak my interest.
My sister and I are extremely close, I cannot imagine anything ever coming between us, let alone, separating us to the point of not being on speaking terms... breaks my heart just thinking about it!

I really liked Lauren Oliver's Delirium trilogy, even the ending!
I loved her middle grade, The Spindlers! And I really enjoyed her adult novel, ROOMS!
(I have to finish reading Before I Fall; I still need to get/read Panic!!!)
However, I must admit - her middle grade and adult writing style was really more what I look for. Compare those books to her young adult books, I prefer the others...
So, I'm really, really looking forward to reading another Young Adult novel by her... even more so that it is another stand-alone.

What are you waiting for this week???

  2. I STILL haven't read anything by Lauren Oliver, but Rooms is sitting patiently on my TBR shelf. This woman really pumps them out, doesn't she? When does she sleep?! Haha! Anyway, this one does sound really good! Thanks for sharing :)

  4. Before I Fall is my favorite book. I love Lauren Oliver (although I didn't like Rooms as much as the rest if her books). I got Vanishing Girls from Edelweiss a while ago but haven't read it yet. I can't wait to start it though. Great pick!
