"Waiting On Wednesday" is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine.

This is where we get to 'spotlight' books that we are anxiously waiting to be released!!!
The ones that we are dying to get our hands on and read into the wee hours of the night!!!
And, quite possibly, to make our shelves look pretty too :)

What I'm currently waiting for...

by Scott Westerfeld, Margo Lanagan and Deborah Biancotti
Expected release date: September 29th, 2015
Published by Simon Pulse
Genre: Young Adult
Format: Hardcover, eBook, Audiobook

SUMMARY

Ethan, aka "Scam," has a way with words. When he opens his mouth, whatever he wants you to hear comes out. But Ethan isn't just a smooth talker. He has a unique ability to say things he doesn't consciously even know. Sometimes the voice helps, but sometimes it hurts - like now, when the voice has lied and has landed Ethan in a massive mess.

So now Ethan needs help.

And he needs to go to the last people who would ever want to help him - his former group of friends, the self-named "zeros" who also all possess similarly double-edged abilities, and who are all angry at Ethan for their own respective reasons.

Brought back together by Scam's latest mischief, they find themselves entangled in an epic, whirlwind adventure packed with as much interpersonal drama as mind-bending action.

What I'm waiting for ZEROES...

First of all... "double-edged abilities"!
I am getting a strong X-Men kinda vibe here!!!

Secondly... I feel like I'm already invested into the story!
Why are Scam's former friends so angry with him???

Lastly... Action! Adventure! Drama!
Yes to all!!!

What are you waiting for this week???

Book Trailer Friday #3: AFTERWORLDS by Scott Westerfeld (YA)

I have a new addiction: BOOK TRAILERS!!!
I'm an "old lady" who doesn't do much late Friday nights except read,
watch some Big Bang Theory and maybe bake a cookie or two...
until I discovered that there are a lot of book trailers out there!
And more and more are being made and released, and I cannot help myself!
I'm going to start sharing a few of my old and new favorite book trailers :)

by Scott Westerfeld
Expected release date: September 23rd, 2014
Published by: Simon Pulse
Genre: Young Adult Contemporary
Format: Hardcover, eBook

SUMMARY

Darcy Patel has put college and everything else on hold to publish her teen novel, Afterworlds.
Arriving in New York with no apartment or friends she wonders whether she's made the right decision until she falls in with a crowd of other seasoned and fledgling writers who take her under their wings…

Told in alternating chapters is Darcy's novel, a suspenseful thriller about Lizzie, a teen who slips into the 'Afterworld' to survive a terrorist attack.
But the Afterworld is a place between the living and the dead and as Lizzie drifts between our world and that of the Afterworld, she discovers that many unsolved - and terrifying - stories need to be reconciled.
And when a new threat resurfaces, Lizzie learns her special gifts may not be enough to protect those she loves and cares about most.

AFTERWORLDS' book trailer

MY THOUGHTS

Ooo, intriguing... intense!

So, it seems that "Darcy writes the story" and "Lizzie lives the story that Darcy is writing'...
I'm getting the impression that Lizzie's world is coming into or interfering with Darcy's. Maybe even, Darcy having a hard time with differentiating what's real and not...???
SO, many questions!

I cannot read this book!
I have never read a Scott Westerfeld book, and I think this is the perfect one to start with!

What do you think???

Also, got any favorite book trailers to share :)

Why I'm waiting on AFTERWORLDS...

I have been wanting to read something written by Scott Westerfeld - I don't think I have ever heard anything negative about his books/writing... and this is a standalone!!! And you all know how much I crave and love standalone books!!!

Plus, it's contemporary-ish!... AND, it's two stories in one book! Yes!!!

SUMMARY

A brilliant, luminous story of first love, family, loss, and betrayal for fans of John Green, David Levithan, and Rainbow Rowell.

Jude and her twin brother, Noah, are incredibly close. At thirteen, isolated Noah draws constantly and is falling in love with the charismatic boy next door, while daredevil Jude cliff-dives and wears red-red lipstick and does the talking for both of them.
But three years later, Jude and Noah are barely speaking. Something has happened to wreck the twins in different and dramatic ways . . . until Jude meets a cocky, broken, beautiful boy, as well as someone else — an even more unpredictable new force in her life.

The early years are Noah's story to tell. The later years are Jude's. What the twins don't realize is that they each have only half the story, and if they could just find their way back to one another, they'd have a chance to remake their world.

This radiant novel from the acclaimed, award-winning author of The Sky Is Everywhere will leave you breathless and teary and laughing—often all at once.

Why I'm waiting on I'LL GIVE YOU THE SUN...

I was immediately drawn to this book for its cover and title - it's SO vibrant and beautiful! And you all should know by now that I am a cover-snob, bookcovers need to "speak to me" and this one does in high volumes!

It's another standalone contemporary!!! *love*

Plus - everyone RAVES about this author! Not just about her writing and books, but as a person that people have come to adore. And it is quite impressive when people not only ramble on about the books, but about the author too. I am really looking forward to diving into this book and finally getting to feel her writing as well!

The Sky Is Everywhere is high on my wishlist as well!!!

Format: Hardcover, eBook

SUMMARY

Blue Sargent has found things. For the first time in her life, she has friends she can trust, a group to which she can belong. The Raven Boys have taken her in as one of their own. Their problems have become hers, and her problems have become theirs.

The trick with found things though, is how easily they can be lost.

Friends can betray.
Mothers can disappear.
Visions can mislead.
Certainties can unravel.

Why I'm waiting on BLUE LILY, LILY BLUE...

Honestly... it's another book from Maggie Steifvater.
That is all.

Need more???
I read the first book, and loved everything about it!
There is a girl named Blue. There is a boy named Gansey.
And there are Raven Boys.

I haven't read the second book yet! But that doesn't matter, because I know it's going to be awesome, just like this third book will.

Because.

It's another book from Maggie Stiefvater.

SUMMARY

Can a road trip repair a romance gone wrong?
Find out in this standalone companion to Lauren Barnholdt’s Two-way Street.

Here are Peyton and Jace, meeting on vacation.
Click! It’s awesome, it’s easy, it’s romantic.
This is the real deal.

Unless it isn’t.
Because when you’re in love, you don’t just stop calling one day.
And you don’t keep secrets.
Or lie.
And when your life starts falling apart, you’re supposed to have the other person to lean on.

Here are Peyton and Jace again, broken up but thrown together on a road trip.
One of them is lying about the destination.
One of them is pretending not to be leaving something behind.
And neither of them is prepared for what’s coming on the road ahead…

Why I'm waiting on RIGHT OF WAY...

I have to admit, this was cover-love-at-first-sight!
I LOVE old cars! And this pic is just fab!

Peyton and Jace are now thrown together for a road trip to where?
Why did they break up?
Do they still love each other?

I. need. to. know!

What are you waiting for this week???
