Waiting on Wednesday #129: NEVER NEVER by Brianna R. Shrum (YA)

"Waiting On Wednesday" is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine.

This is where we get to 'spotlight' books that we are anxiously waiting to be released!!!
The ones that we are dying to get our hands on and read into the wee hours of the night!!!
And, quite possibly, to make our shelves look pretty too :)

What I'm currently waiting for...

by Brianna R. Shrum
Expected release date: September 22nd, 2015
Published by Spencer Hill Press
Genre: Young Adult Fairytale Retelling
Format: Paperback, eBook

SUMMARY

James Hook is a child who only wants to grow up.

When he meets Peter Pan, a boy who loves to pretend and is intent on never becoming a man, James decides he could try being a child — at least briefly.

James joins Peter Pan on a holiday to Neverland, a place of adventure created by children’s dreams, but Neverland is not for the faint of heart. Soon James finds himself longing for home, determined that he is destined to be a man. But Peter refuses to take him back, leaving James trapped in a world just beyond the one he loves. A world where children are to never grow up.

But grow up he does.

And thus begins the epic adventure of a Lost Boy and a Pirate.

This story isn’t about Peter Pan; it’s about the boy whose life he stole. It’s about a man in a world that hates men. It’s about the feared Captain James Hook and his passionate quest to kill the Pan, an impossible feat in a magical land where everyone loves Peter Pan.

Except one.

Why I'm waiting on NEVER NEVER...

FIRST... you guys must all know by now how HUGE my love is for all things PETER PAN!!!
This is ALL about HOOK!
The how and why he grows up and despises Peter Pan SO much!!!

Secondly... a different perspective of Peter Pan!
And, WHY didn't Peter Pan just let James go home???

Lastly... just LOOK at that COVER!!!

I am DYING to read this!!!

What are you waiting on this week?!?!?!

Teaser and Contest: GIRL LOST by Nazarea Andrews (NA)

by Nazarea Andrews
Expected release date: May 1st, 2014
Published by: A & A Literary
Genre: New Adult (17+) Contemporary Romance, Retelling (Peter Pan)
Format: Paperback

SUMMARY
Northern was supposed to be a fresh start—a place where people didn’t know who I was or how I had spent years in and out of mental institutes. People didn't know about my parents death or the island no one heard of. But when Peter sits next to me in lit class, I can’t stop the memories, and I don’t want to. He looks too much like the boy from the island, and despite my best intentions, coaxes my secrets from me.

He’s gorgeous, irresistible, a little mad, and completely lost—we are a pair of broken cogs in a world neither of us truly fits into. He is somehow gentle and fierce, heartbreaking in his devotion and savage in his defense.

When Belle, his best friend, shows up, pale and lovely and sick, Peter pulls away from me, a startling withdrawal. It’s a relationship that scares and confuses me. She is at times warm and friendly, and other times is violent and unpredictable.

Peter says that he wants me, but refuses to let himself get close. And there are secrets, surrounding both of us, that border on nightmares. As the memories close in, as Belle gets sicker and more violent, I’m torn between what is true and what I believe, and what this magical boy knows about my mysterious past.
