If you didn't know, I am a huge fan of fantasy stories, my second go-to genre (my first preference being fairytales and magical realism)...

I love all of her books!!!
(Even though I still need to read This is What Happy Looks Like, I know I'm going to love it too!)

Second, I really do love contemporaries!
And to me, Jennifer E. Smith is one of the bestest writers in this genre!!!
Especially on how she can write a whole book that takes place in just 24 hours - amazing!!!

Lastly... LOOK at that awesome bookcover!
I just love the theme to her books!!!

MY THOUGHTS

Tigers in Red Weather is describe to be a "Gatsby-esque debut novel about a murder that disrupts a family's life on mid-twentieth-century Martha's Vineyard, taking place over a 20 year span." 

I have a soft spot for Historical Fiction, especially stories that have a realistic family history and mystery to them. Sounds like a very suspenseful quick summer read!

Liza Klaussmann worked as a journalist for the New York Times for over a decade. She received a BA in Creative Writing from Barnard College, where she was awarded the Howard M. Teichman Prize for Prose. She lived in Paris for ten years and she recently completed with distinction an MA in Creative Writing at Royal Holloway, in London, where she lives. She is the great-great-great granddaughter of Herman Melville.
