The Faded Trilogy #1
by Chloe Miles
Release date: August 24th, 2012
Published by: Self-published
Genre: Young Adult Paranormal Romance
Format: Paperback, eBook

SUMMARY

When seventeen-year-old Savannah Fraser and her three friends are killed in a car accident, they are given a second chance at life by a group of century-old earthbound spirits who need their help.

Savannah learns she is a Chosen One, which means, she can switch between human and spirit form, heal people and control the weather - and she is also now invincible.

The Chosen Ones are the only ones who can defeat The Forces - a trio of evil half-spirits who are slowly destroying the perfect little town of Fort Everwick with violent storms and not-s0-natural disasters - and stop them from harming everyone they care about.

The Forces are set on destroying everything Savannah knows and loves, but they also have a more sinister plan - they want a new member to join them. They won't give up until they get the one they want - and they have Savannah firmly in their sights.

But what Savannah didn't count on was falling in love with Hunter. She's never loved anyone the way she loves Hunter, and she knows he loves her too. But how can they be together forever if he no longer exists and she's the only one who can see him?

Will Savannah have enough belief in herself to defeat The Forces, or will they be able to lure her to the darkside and turn her against her loved ones - and tear her and Hunter apart?

EXCERPT

It was just as stunning out there as it was inside the hall. A string of lights adorned the fancy stone railing, and little square trees formed a hedge along the inside of it. Hunter walked out into the middle and took a bow before he extended his hand to her.

"Our own private dance floor."

Savannah obligingly placed her hand in his. She couldn't hold his hand like she could have in spirit form - she couldn't take the risk in case somebody had seen her go out there - but Hunter still hold hers all the same.

"It's bad enough that I can't be your proper date that everybody else can see you with," he said as he twirled her around and then gently pulled her in closer, "but I didn't want you to miss out on this part as well."
"What do you mean a proper date?" she asked him. "Hunter, you're still here to me. You've just faded a little, that's all."

A light dusting of snow had started falling about their heads, and Savannah lifted her eyes to see tiny romantic snowflakes falling only on them like their own little winter snow globe scene.

"I noticed their dance floor in there had a snow machine," Hunter said as he watched the snowflakes fall above their heads before he let his eyes drift back down to here. "I can do better than that."
"It's beautiful."

Savannah caught a tiny snowflake as it landed gently on her hand. It might not have been really snowing like how Madison had wanted it to, but it was still romantic.

"This night is perfect," she whispered as she placed her arms around his transparent shoulders, "because you're here."
"I wouldn't have missed this for anything," he said. "You're the most important thing in the world to me, and I knew how important this was to you."

Savannah looked back up at the falling snow.

"You know how you said that I should forget about everything else and just be a normal girl tonight?" She shook her head to disagree before she had even said the words. "Normal is overrated. None of those other girls in there have real snow," she whispered, "or you."

Hunter gently twirled her around again before she held both her hands up to his. Their hands were barely touching, but that was good enough for her. Hunter was hers. She didn't need anybody else to be able to see him to know that.

"Those other guys in there may be alive and have youth on their side," he whispered as his eyes drifted to her lips, "but I'm the luckiest guy here tonight."

Published by: Self-published
Genre: Young Adult Contemporary
Format: eBook

SUMMARY

Shy girls don’t yarn-bomb the school fence at dawn, and they definitely don’t skip school to hang out with Patrick Hayes — student council president, football vice-captain (and president of his own fan club).

But then, best friends don't usually resort to blackmail.

Fifteen-year-old Mabs is the shadow to Olivia’s sun. That’s how it’s always been. But when Olivia goes on a semester-long exchange to France, Mabs can no longer hide behind her best friend.

When a letter arrives, postmarked Paris, the last thing Mabs expects is blackmail. And unless she completes the enclosed list of dares by the time Olivia gets home, Olivia will send the love poem she stole from Mabs’s diary to the boy it was written about.
What’s even worse than the possibility of Rob Eno (her way too easily decipherable codename for the former object of her affections) seeing that poem, or her best friend thinking that she’s a friendless recluse who needs to be blackmailed into getting a life, is having to admit it just might be true.

After a few humiliating attempts, Mabs realises the only way she’s ever going to get the list finished in time is to enlist the help of an extrovert. Enter Patrick Hayes, her brother’s pain-in-the-neck best friend. The ultimate extrovert, he might be the only one who can help Mabs finish the list, and step out of Olivia’s shadow.

Chronicles of the Goblin King, Book One
by Mike Phillips
Release date: March 1st, 2013
Published by: Self-published
Format: Paperback, eBook

SUMMARY

It’s a world of magic and intrigue. It’s a world of betrayal and death. It’s the World Below.

Things are finally looking up for Mitch. He’s had a rough time lately, suffering an accident that left him flat broke and physically deformed. But now he’s in a new town with new friends and a new job. He even met a nice girl. Mitch doesn’t know it yet, but she’s trouble in a big way. Strange things, inexplicable things, start happening. Soon Mitch is pulled into a magical world where he must rescue his girlfriend and save the enchanted people of the World Below.
Think of it as Twilight for guys. It’s a horror story with a sense of humor. It’s a romantic comedy with goblins. Like Mirror Mask and Night Circus, it’s crazy but a good crazy. If all that hasn’t scared you away, check out a great mess of a modern fantasy novel, the World Below.
The World Below, the Urban/Dark Fantasy novel by Mike Phillips, is now available. Please considering having me as your guest for an interview, character interview, chapter reveal or guest post.
The World Below has had some great reviews. A few quotes from these reviews are listed below. I have also attached the first chapter. Hopefully, that will be enough to get you hooked. I know that you must be very busy, but if you are ever interested in reviewing the book, please let me know. I would love to send you a copy and hear what you think of my work.

BOOK TRAILER

ABOUT THE AUTHOR - Mike Phillips

Mike Phillips grew up on a small farm in West Michigan, living much the way people did at the turn of the century. Whether it was growing fruits and vegetables or raising livestock, Mike learned the value of hard work and responsibility at a young age.

While his friends spent their summers watching reruns of bad sitcoms, Mike’s father gave him a very special gift. He turned off the television. With what was affectionately referred to as “the idiot box” no longer a distraction, Mike was left to discover the fantastic worlds that only exist in books. When not tending sheep, gardening, building furniture, chopping wood, or just goofing off, Mike spent his time reading.

With all that hard work at home, Mike was always eager to go to school. He excelled as a student and went on to pursue a career in the sciences. Working as a Safety Engineer in the Insurance Industry, Mike soon became bored with the corporate grind. Writing engaged him like nothing else. After a few novels and numerous short stories, he thought getting published would be a pretty neat idea. And so, here it goes…

by Kristee Ravan
Release date: March 14th, 2014
Genre: YA Fantasy
Format: Paperback, eBook

SUMMARY

Fairy tales are naturally non-mathematical. That is a fact, and fifteen-year-old Lily Sparrow loves factual, mathematical logic. So when her mother confesses that Lily’s deceased father is (a) not dead, (b) coming to dinner, and (c) the ruler of a fairy tale kingdom accessible through the upstairs bathtub, Lily clings to her math to help her make sense of this new double life (1 life in the real world + 1 secret life in the fairy tale world = a double life).

Even though it’s not mathematical, Lily finds herself being pulled into a mystery involving an unhappy Cinderella, a greasy sycophant called Levi, and a slew of vanishing fairy tale characters. Racing against the clock, with a sound mathematical plan, Lily attempts to save her fairy tale friends while proving that normality = happiness.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR - Kristee Ravan

Kristee Ravan lives in Oklahoma with her husband, daughter, and pet fish, Val (short for Valentine). She wanted to be many things as she grew up including a general, an artist, and an architect. But she never bothered to say, "I want to be a writer when I grow up." She was always writing stories and thought of herself as a writer anyway. She sent her first story to a publisher in the sixth grade. (It was rejected - in a nice way.) When she is not making up stories in her head, she enjoys reading, juggling, green smoothies, playing dollhouse with her daughter, and hearing from her fans.

Attention All Indie Authors!!! Introducing INDIE MONDAYS!!!

ATTENTION Indie Authors!!!

When I first started my book blog I was determined to read, promote all books that I loved no matter how or when they were published. However, I don't have the strength nor time to do so lately...

BUT!!!

I have read many good indie books in the last 2+ years, have made a lot of good indie author friends and have always wished I could do more... these authors work so very hard to promote their amazing books! It is a wonder to me how they get it all done.

I am hoping that I have finally found a way to help too.
