MY REVIEW

An endearing and captivating little story full of heart and strong assurances - this adoption story is sure to not only bring better understanding, but also affirms a parents want, need and love for the child...

In I'LL HOLD YOU FOREVER, a little girl asks her mom, "Are you really my real mom?" The mother replies with, "I am your mom. And I am real." How very true those words are.
The story continues with the mother explaining to the little girl how she has a birthmother, and how she waited, prayed and prepared for her arrival. How her birthmother chose her and the process of bringing the little baby girl home and all the steps she took to mothering her while going through the adoption proceedings. The mother speaks to her in a way that she will understand, but also, open and honest, full of warmth and love.

I've always felt that no matter what age the child is, to show them true love one must be as honest as possible. This book supports this; it completely captures the mother's love towards her little girl. And you can really feel how she genuinely feels towards her daughter and everything that she went through to have her in her life, to become her real mother.

Overall, a heartwarming and sweet take on adoption that brought a tear to my eye. A book that can not only be shared with adopted and non-adopted families as well. It is the perfect way to have an open discussion and help your little ones better understand what and how adoption is.

*A paperback copy was sent to me by the author for an honest review. All thoughts are my own.
