Waiting On Wednesday #100: The 100th WoW Post Edition!

"Waiting On Wednesday" is a weekly meme hosted by  Breaking the Spine.

This is were we get to 'spotlight' books that we are anxiously waiting to be released! The ones that we are dying to get our hands on and read into the wee hours of the night and, quite possibly, to make our shelves look all pretty too :)

I cannot believe that this is my '100th Waiting On Wednesday' post!!!
It only took 2 1/2 years to get to it, lol!

I decided to celebrate by sharing a few extra books that I have my eye on right now...

What I'm waiting for...

by Scott Westerfeld
Expected release date: September 23rd, 2014
Published by: Simon Pulse
Genre: Young Adult Contemporary
Format: Hardcover, eBook

SUMMARY

Darcy Patel has put college and everything else on hold to publish her teen novel, Afterworlds.
Arriving in New York with no apartment or friends she wonders whether she's made the right decision until she falls in with a crowd of other seasoned and fledgling writers who take her under their wings…

Told in alternating chapters is Darcy's novel, a suspenseful thriller about Lizzie, a teen who slips into the 'Afterworld' to survive a terrorist attack.
But the Afterworld is a place between the living and the dead and as Lizzie drifts between our world and that of the Afterworld, she discovers that many unsolved - and terrifying - stories need to be reconciled.
And when a new threat resurfaces, Lizzie learns her special gifts may not be enough to protect those she loves and cares about most.

Why I'm waiting on AFTERWORLDS...

I have been wanting to read something written by Scott Westerfeld - I don't think I have ever heard anything negative about his books/writing... and this is a standalone!!! And you all know how much I crave and love standalone books!!!

Plus, it's contemporary-ish!... AND, it's two stories in one book! Yes!!!

Expected release date: September 16th, 2014
Published by: Dial (Penguin)
Genre: Young Adult Contemporary
Format: Hardcover, eBook

SUMMARY

A brilliant, luminous story of first love, family, loss, and betrayal for fans of John Green, David Levithan, and Rainbow Rowell.

Jude and her twin brother, Noah, are incredibly close. At thirteen, isolated Noah draws constantly and is falling in love with the charismatic boy next door, while daredevil Jude cliff-dives and wears red-red lipstick and does the talking for both of them.
But three years later, Jude and Noah are barely speaking. Something has happened to wreck the twins in different and dramatic ways . . . until Jude meets a cocky, broken, beautiful boy, as well as someone else — an even more unpredictable new force in her life.

The early years are Noah's story to tell. The later years are Jude's. What the twins don't realize is that they each have only half the story, and if they could just find their way back to one another, they'd have a chance to remake their world.

This radiant novel from the acclaimed, award-winning author of The Sky Is Everywhere will leave you breathless and teary and laughing—often all at once.

Why I'm waiting on I'LL GIVE YOU THE SUN...

I was immediately drawn to this book for its cover and title - it's SO vibrant and beautiful! And you all should know by now that I am a cover-snob, bookcovers need to "speak to me" and this one does in high volumes!

It's another standalone contemporary!!! *love*

Plus - everyone RAVES about this author! Not just about her writing and books, but as a person that people have come to adore. And it is quite impressive when people not only ramble on about the books, but about the author too. I am really looking forward to diving into this book and finally getting to feel her writing as well!

The Sky Is Everywhere is high on my wishlist as well!!!

The Raven Cycle #3
by Maggie Stiefvater
Expected release date: October 21st, 2014
Published by: Scholastic Press
Genre: Young Adult Paranormal
Format: Hardcover, eBook

SUMMARY

Blue Sargent has found things. For the first time in her life, she has friends she can trust, a group to which she can belong. The Raven Boys have taken her in as one of their own. Their problems have become hers, and her problems have become theirs.

The trick with found things though, is how easily they can be lost.

Friends can betray.
Mothers can disappear.
Visions can mislead.
Certainties can unravel.

Why I'm waiting on BLUE LILY, LILY BLUE...

Honestly... it's another book from Maggie Steifvater.
That is all.

Need more???
I read the first book, and loved everything about it!
There is a girl named Blue. There is a boy named Gansey.
And there are Raven Boys.

I haven't read the second book yet! But that doesn't matter, because I know it's going to be awesome, just like this third book will.

Because.

It's another book from Maggie Stiefvater.

White Rabbit Chronicles #3
by Gena Showalter
Expected release date: September 30th, 2014
Published by: Harlequin Teen
Genre: Young Adult Paranormal
Format: Hardcover, eBook

SUMMARY

I have a plan.

We'll either destroy them for good, or they'll destroy us.

Either way, only one of us is walking away.

In the stunning conclusion to the wildly popular White Rabbit Chronicles, Alice "Ali" Bell thinks the worst is behind her. She's ready to take the next step with boyfriend Cole Holland, the leader of the zombie slayers…until Anima Industries, the agency controlling the zombies, launches a sneak attack, killing four of her friends. It's then she realizes that humans can be more dangerous than monsters… and the worst has only begun.

As the surviving slayers prepare for war, Ali discovers she, too, can control the zombies… and she isn't the girl she thought she was. She's connected to the woman responsible for killing — and turning — Cole's mother. How can their relationship endure? As secrets come to light, and more slayers are taken or killed, Ali will fight harder than ever to bring down Anima — even sacrificing her own life for those she loves.

Why I'm waiting on THE QUEEN OF ZOMBIE HEARTS...

"We're all mad here."

I feel like I've aged waiting for this book!!!
I cannot wait to get this beauty in my hands... I have no other words! Just...
WANT!!!

*grabby hands*
