MY REVIEW

This book had me smiling ear to ear - it was so refreshing to read such a sweet and romantic story from a guys point-of-view. I was instantly captured by the title of this book and synopsis, and knew that it would be an enjoyable story.

Nick Cairn is a grad student on the verge of graduating, all he has left to do is finish his dissertation. But trying to use scientific methods on figuring out how and why people fall in love takes many dedicated long and lonely hours... his fiance, Ella, was far from understanding or interested in what he was trying to accomplish. But Nick was a good guy, he was always understanding, dedicated every free moment with her and did his best to live up to his expectations even though it seemed that she did nothing in return and he knew almost nothing about her, her family or her past.
I had to admit, I did have a hard time understanding how Nick was always so patient and trusting towards Ella. He had no idea how she supported herself or how she spent her time. But he knew how insecure she was and demanding, and he always did what he could to keep her happy. The blindness of true love? Or just dealing with it and keeping his promises?

And then Moire DeLanthe walks in. I have to admit, I fell for her from just reading her name - it fits her perfectly! The moment she spoke to him and he laid eyes on her, there was a spark. She oozed confidence and personality - so likable and fun! And of course the Nick is all in a tither and has to go into denial about what he is feeling for her, and the things that start to change with Ella...

It was quite humorous to read through some of the situations that Nick had to go through, his little misadventures had me laughing out loud! At times, things were predictable, but like all love stories, you can't help yourself to find out how it all ends.

For all of you that love light, clean romances - ala Nicholas Sparks, but without all the crying - you will certainly love this little story too!
