Follow Friday...

This seems like a nifty idea :)

Some wonderful bloggers got together to help spread the word about newbie book bloggers and I thought I'd join them so I can get to know a few other newbies like myself and help spread the word :)
A huge thank you to Parajunkee's View and Alison Can Read for hosting!!!

Please say HI and leave your link in the comments below :)
I am a newbie book blogger, so any tips that you would like to share with me would be greatly appreciated too!

Oh, and there is a question too, so you can get to know me a bit better...

Q: What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done to get your hands on any particular book?

Hmmm, it would probably have to be the time that I dragged my poor hubs to the release of one of the Harry Potter books (book #6), lol! Other than parents, we were probably the only 30yos in the crowd waiting for the midnight release! Oh, and did I mention that I had my sister and bro-in-law babysitting our newborn son too! I really wanted the new book, plus it was a bonus to get out of the house for a while!!!
lmao, hubs swore that he would never go into a crowd of "teenies" like that again! but he did admit that he had a ton of fun just being out for the night, even though we were sleep deprived and hungry! lol! It will definitely be a night that we will never forget :)

Thanks for stopping by!
Enjoy your TGIF!!!

PS, bumbles and fairy-tales is a Blogger blog,
so I'm pretty sure that it will be keeping the GFC feature!
but either way, if you'd like to follow via email, Facebook or Twitter,
I'd be so very happy that you did :) Thanks!!!

  1. I wish I'd have been into HP when they came out - I remember working next door to a B&N on the night of the last book release -- those lines were INSANE!

Stop by and see my TGIF / Follow Friday this week!

  2. Ha! Sounds like fun! Sometimes I think I'd like to wait in line for a... nope. See? Then I think about it and decide waiting in line for hours for anything is probably not the best idea. I'd rather be nice and warm at home and let someone else wait in line for me!

Thanks for following Pretty in Fiction. Following you back!

  13. Hi, new follower here! :)

I never went to one of the HP release parties, but the grocery store had them out on that same night so I just went there and grabbed a copy-- I know, not at all crazy, but a lot less stressful probably! On the other hand, I absolutely LOVED going to all the HP movie midnight openings, it was so cool to be in all that excitement with other fans all dressed up and totally into it!

I'd love if you stopped by to visit me, you can see my FF answer for this week at the link below ;)

  14. Hi, I'm a new blogger, too. Your blog has such great buttons and is new cute to look at. I didn't drive until I was 24 (and I worked in my family business) so on our lonnnng treks to NYC (from South Jersey) I would be in the back of the van with a blankie and flashlight reading. I believed in a pair and a spare. On the way back home (probably about 10:30pm) I finished one book but couldn't find the pair (the horror) so I had my mom leave the NJ Turnpike and take local roads so we could find an open store that had books. I'm not sure which is greater mommy love or a book nerds love of books. I do love your HP story!!!!

  19. Fantastic story! LOL I don't know that I ever did anything crazy to get a book. Hmm. I will have to think on that.

  20. Lots of comments about new releases. I never get new releases. I'm always like a year behind everyone else in reading books.

  24. I would have done that, but I'm kind of scared of teenagers in packs. On their own they are fun -- but they, well they used to scare me before I was a parent. LOL XO Parajunkee
